Suicide: Man kills himself after years of childlessness

According to reports, residents who lived in the same vicinity with the deceased, alleged that he killed himself due to his prolonged childless marriage.

The death of man identified as Joshua, has caused panic for the residents of Isale Aro, Osogbo, in Osun State.

The incident, which happened on Thursday, June 23, 2016, was a result of the deceased long years of childlessness.

According to Punch, Joshua, who is a motorcyclist, was discovered hanging from a rope in his sitting room. This was before his wife returned from work on the day.

Upon discovering her dead husband, she immediately notified her neighbours, who disclosed that the man’s childless marriage was likely to have been the motivation for the suicide.

Further reports claimed that Joshua was seriously troubled by his fruitless marriage. Before his body could be moved to the mortuary, some traditional worshippers were invited to perform the necessary rituals.

The story of his death was confirmed by Mr. Babawale Afolabi, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun State.
